Movement Mujeres

After months of working alongside creative, inspiring women, I decided to focus my final project with Movement Mujeres on something I’ve been passionate about for over a year. Growing up at the border, I’ve witnessed the Monarch butterfly migrates across countries to find its way home every fall. As a reminder to myself and to those living in the states, the monarch represents the natural freedom we all possess as humans on earth. The monarch for many immigrants represents hope, resilience, and freedom.

I created these illustrations to bring awareness and to share a small story of the tragic family separation many families are facing right now. I hope to shed some light on the courage and beauty of immigrants trying to find their way to freedom in this country.
